i have a 400ex and my pipes are turning red i alredy looked into rejetting it but could it a so be my timeing mabe .

your timing is probably fine,i would try a bigger pilot or turn out your fuel screw(richen).how long do you let your bike idle?my yzf mx bike does it too when it idles too long

your running way too lean..letting it idle for awhile with it like this is deff. not good.....bump up your pilot jet 1 or 2 and fuel screw out a halfa turn
