View Full Version : NEED HELP BIG PROBLEM!!!!400ex chain

my 400ex chain came off last night when i was riddin and the chain got pinched between the countershaft sprocket, and the rubber swing arm piece....i cant get it off and i have no idea how...i tried everything im kinda sleepy and pissed off so i didnt want to keep messin with it cuz i woulda busted the damn thing up so help

The same exact thing happened to me!!
It might take 3 people to get it out.
You sit on the quad, letting the clutch out slowly in first gear while one person takes a chisel and a hammer and tries to tap it up back through, and have another person pull on the rest of the chain from the back.
It may take a while but it'll work.

thanks for the help...i was going to take a ratchet strap and put arround the grab bar and the swinger to compress the shock...i didnt think it would work so i didnt try it....

if it's not a stock chain see if ya can get to the master link n take her apart, when all else fails, use powertools :devil:

yea its a stock chain...so no master link...imma try the other guys idea...if that dont work ill just figure out somethin....

stock chain grab fire wrench and cut it out and buy new chain thats what i would do

Just pull the pivot bolt and move the swingarm back and voila, it is free.

I've pulled mine a few times. While not being the easiest thing too do, it is alot easier than what they have planned.

happend to me once or twice before...i would deff. pull out that big ol' swinger pivot bolt, not the easiest thing to do, but its a sure fix
