On my banshee's toomey pipe there is rubber on it where a boot leaned up against it and melted on it. Is there a way you can remove this without messing up the finish on the pipe?

try some oven cleaner. Get the pipe warm and carefully spray some oven cleaner on it . Cover all painted surfaces that could be hit with overspray. Wait a few mins. and it will wipe off.

warm up the motor. let the pipe get hot. maybe ride around for a couple minute. then that something like a clean rag and just whip it off. don't burn your self know. but it works really good.

My dad does this on his harley when my mom's boot hits the pipes. Let the motor run to get the pipe nice and hot, then put alittle car wax on a rag and then wipe where the rubber is should take it right off. Just wipe it quick so it comes off with no problems.
