Does anyone that has a late model 04' 450r experienced any of the crank bearing failures that the early 05's have had? I've heard that Honda may have started using the defective bearing in some of the later 04's but i don't know how much truth there is to this. If you have an 04 w/ this prob and could give me the last ten #'s of your VIN it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

what are they replacing the crank bearings with? Is it just the stock crank bearing or is there a different part #?

my dealer still had an 04 and i bought it. well my crank bearing went out in 10 mins. it's a bunch of bull****. i told the rep i want a new motor or quad. the mechanic at the dealer told me that there lots of metal shavings in the motor. i don't want that one back

I bought my 450R in October of 04, vin# 4A012625. No crank problems here, and I've rode the hell out of this machine. All these crank problems are scary to me, but I got the extended warranty.
