When my engine turn a bit quickly at Idle, when I stop it, it make a loud ticking noise. I think It's a piece of my starter? what do you think about it?
Thanks

When you get close to the bike where does the sound come from? How long do you let it idle, before you can hear it? I'm thinking it might be your oil pump sometimes the can be noisey. Especially if your bike is cold.

I don't think it's valves because it make this sound only when I stop the engine. it's a loud and big sound like a gear who suck... This sound appear always when my engine speed at IDLE is a little bit quickly....

I know raptors having trouble with one way bearing... It can be possible on mine?

it's difficult to know where come this sound....

I can heard this sound ONLY when I stop engine, hot, very hot or cold...

I think It's a starter problem...

do you purposly turn the bike of or does it die out and make like one loud tick? mine does that every once and a while i have been trin to figure it out for a while but cant think of anything. mine usally only does it when the bike is cold and its idleing and stalls

Your probably right! Make sure all the wires are in tact and possibly try charging the battery and see if it will go away. Or take off the starter and have it checked.

i just took mine in and it was makin a ticking noise at idle and it was the cam chain tensioner. it is at the back of the motor on the right side and if you listen you can definetely tell where it is coming from

i think hes talkin about when he shuts the engine completly down.... after its been running awhile and you shut it off they will some times make a like tick tick,, i think this has something to do with the oil but i do not know for sure what it is..

Everytime my wife shuts down her 400ex it "ticks" for about 30 seconds. It's the header pipe cooling off.

Maybe a long shot but, could that be your ticking noise?

yeah that sounds right because the metal expands and it needs too cool

Header is cooling off and the metal is contracting.
