I WAS THINKING OF BUYING A PINGRY OIL TANK FOR MY 400. ANY FEED BACK FROM YOU ALL WOULD BE GREAT THANKS.

i have one,,,,,,,,,,and have had no problems and it keeps the oil cooler and adds a quart of capacity. i really like it,,i dont know what else to say really,,,,,,,

I added a Pingry Oil tank and air scoops. My "seat of the pants" field measurement was positive. The bike felt cooler on my legs.

Forgot to mention that I have a 416 (10.8) and an XR400 Cam and ride mostly in the dunes (very steep hills).

I have a brand new Pingry tank sitting right here beside my desk that I just ordered last week...going out to get anodized this week. I like the concept of having an extra quart of oil though, and the construction and quality of the tank seems good, but I still can't get over what I paid for it. Just seems like a lot of money for an aluminum oil tank... At any rate, an oversized tank might be overkill for a stock motor unless you race or run the motor really hard, but I think it's almost a necessity once you bore the engine or run a higher compression piston. Mine definitely runs hotter in the sand after my 416 mods than when it was stock, so I'm interested what the extra oil capacity will do for cooling.

I don't know if there any godd. But I think they are way to much!! They are $260!!!! (from crowley-offroad.com) I think i'll have my uncle's neighbor make me one if i wanted one. (He builds top alcohol dragsters, and does alot of side jobs too) That my opion though. (not experience)
