just put a drd slip on .have no problems through the gears no cut out or flat spots.have factory jets.is that fine.

you might want to check your spark plug. also, just to be on the safe side, bump the main up a size or two. as funny as this sounds, backfiring, flats spots, etc etc dont always need to be there for a bike to be lean. or at least so i've heard.

can you give us a bit more info on your setup? airbox mods? air filter?

everything stock except exhaust.just started mods.have 6 degree key n cdi box.but not installed.she sounds sweet though.

I would try putting a bigger main in you might gain some top end. Best thing to do is a plug check
