View Full Version : 2005 GNC MX Round 4 - Echeconnee Live Coverage

After a beautiful weekend of racing at Gatorback three weeks ago, the rain that has plagued the GNC Series this year return for Round #4 at Echeconnee Park in Macon, GA. As a of the heavy rain, racers that arrived Thursday night and Friday morning preparing to practice were disappointed to find out that practice would be cancelled due to the heavy rain pounding the area with several inches of rain.

Fortunately conditions improved Saturday, but the damage to the track was already done, and it was a muddy mess early in the day, but as it dried out deep ruts formed which made for some rough racing.

Unlike the GNCC event yesterday, communication with the track is a go, and ATVriders.com will be bringing you live updates through the 1st and 2nd Pro Motos, so check back at Noon and 3PM for Live Race Coverage followed by Pro Racer interviews and results from the amateur races.

If you have a special someone at the track and would like an update on his/her results please let us know and we will do our best to get you the information.

John Natalie Jr has been charging hard the whole race, and now has finally looked back to see the huge lead he has developed as he begins to slow down to avoid risking a mistake

Doug Gust and Tim Farr are battling for the third spot and Doug Gust just stuffed Tim Farr and made the pass into 3rd with Farr dropping back to 4th.

Admin

Doug Gust was able to close the gap on Keith Little, but their wasn't enough time for him to attempt the pass as Doug put in an impressive charge from 11th to 3rd in Moto #1

When I talked to John Natalie Jr on Thursday, I asked him if he thought that he could win two in a row, and he told me that he was going to win this weekend because he feels like he is the best shape in his career and has the confidence that he can win.

Well, he proved to everyone once again that he is on his game as he rode a flawless 1st Moto and took the checkered with a huge lead.

The 2nd Moto could really get interesting if Both John Natalie Jr and Doug Gust get out front early and battle for that 1st spot considering how hard they charged in the 1st moto.

Check back at 3PM for the 2nd Moto

If you're talking about Brit, then no. It's not a girl. Brit races around here when he's not at a national. He's a real cool guy, I ride with him a lot. He's putting a pro peg kit and PCing a frame for me right now. Check out www.sequads.com, his name on there is Zero.

He gives thanks to all the fans that have showed up to support the racing.

He gave Curtis Sparks and Dave (East Coast) a big thanks for building his Quad/Engine, which gave him the power to grab the Holeshot both Motos.

How is Farr get 3rd over all with a 4th-18pts and 4th 18=36pts

Little had 2nd 25pts and 7th 14pts = 39 pts?

tprender
04-03-2005, 03:02 PM
Remember, when you figure the points for the overall for the "day" you add the finishing postion for both motos. The rider with the lowest total is the winner. If there is a tie, the rider who did the best in the 2nd moto is what decides the tie. The overall for the year is done different, with a different set of numbers.

Sandsjbyz22
04-03-2005, 03:13 PM
You are totaling the finishes in the motos like 1 and 1 = 2 and farr had 4 and 4 so he had 8 points while Keith had 3 and 7 for 10.

jc250r31
04-03-2005, 04:53 PM
Sorry but most of yall are incorrect with the points. Here is how it works.
1 = 30
2 = 25
3 = 21
4 = 18
5 = 16
6 = 15
7 = 14
8 = 13
9 = 12
10 = 11
11 = 10
12 = 9
13 = 8
14 = 7
15 = 6
16 = 5
17 = 4
18 = 3
19 = 2
20 = 1

The way the overall is calculated is exactly like someone else said earlier. Your position equals your moto points. ie 1st=1 point 2nd = 2 point etc.. etc.. combine the total and the lowest score wins, in the event of a tie the second moto determines the place.

Jeremiah had an accident in practice. He rolled his machine 3 times with him on it. His chest was sore, but a hurt thumb was why his first moto was poor.
JJ's mom explained that a homopathic healer worked on JJ's thumb. It sure did help as he was on fire once again in moto 2. :)

I expect JJ to get that first place trophy soon!!! He seems to be getting horrible starts, but catches up to everyone during the race. If he could just get a good holeshot!!
