what are good air scoops fora 400ex

what do they do? i heard all they did was cool the motor down faster. Do u think its worth the money for them?

They direct air more towards the oil cooler and the front of the engine,therfore cooling is increased,this is very benifical if you have a oversized oil tank as well,the quadtechs aren't worht the 200 dollars or w/e but any of the 30-50 dollars sets are,or make your own custom set;)

since the 400ex is air cooled it is better to get as much air flow to the engine as possible. when it over heats you lose power so yes, it is defiantatly worth the money.

i think that OMF's air scoops are the best looking scoops, all the scoops works the same way but omf's are nice....they r xpensive though... 70 bucks.

its got a wird flap on the side of it doesnt that afecct the air flow

Yes it does affect airflow....it grabs even more air and redirects it towards the motor. I can see how you thought that flap would deflect the air, but if you look closely they are pointed outwards. This further increases the scavenging affect of the scoops - a feature that is absent on most air scoops.

i bought a pair off ebay for like $40... they look sweet too. but just my opinion, they cant really do much think of it this way when your riding air is still going past ure oil cooler no matter what...
