what about the new hondas

Just spoke to a buddy at a Honda dealer in town, he said 2003,two new quads, one with the new 450 Four stroke and one that is a 650, comparable with the Bombarded 650.

Look alot of people want a 650ex to come out but a 450ex would be awesome with that new XR450f motor in a quad fram. The XR450f motor is alot more powerful with 55 hp and 36 ft lbs or torque. That motor is awesome even though the name would say it is 200cc's less in power. So here's the question is 650s bark bigger than its bite???

doesn't matter if they did put a 450 in the line up they would detune it anyways

It is the cr450r. A pure bred race horse. Dont think of it as detuning, think of it as adding tourque.

Well this just sucks. Well for me atleast. I just bought a 2002 400ex and if they put the crf450 motor in some chassis i'm going to be pissed.

dont feel bad. mines a 2001 only about 6 or 7 months old and depending on what they release i would consider trading in on one.

I won't feel bad at all. I am totally satisfied with my 400EX. I don't need reverse..........and I can hang with or beat any quad on the market through the trails. Heck, my buddy on his 300EX is the quickest one in the group most times..........until we hit the wide open stuff.

New models will make things more exciting...........but it won't make me want to stand in line for one.

I love my 400. It actually had alot more power than I thought it was going to have. I think the 400ex is still the best on the market. The only way I might even consider a new 450/650ex is if they still have the same quick-reving engine. I don't like the way the gears are so long on the raptor and the ds650. I think if honda goes with a big 650cc engine it'll have the same feel.(long gears). The crf450r engine does kinda grab my attention but I would want it to feel the same as my 400.:D
