I have a clanking tap noise comeing from my topend.

I do not know what it is

Here is what i have done so far
Timing chain and tensioner
newvalves
i checked the valves last night the where dead on

i have narrowed it down to
rockers or lifters or lack of oil to the valvetrain

Please let me know what you think

Also is there a way to check the presure of teh oil system, if so please let me know. At this point i don't know what to do.

have you put heavy valve springs in it?

maybe something can loose. like rockers or something. I say open up the valve cover and look. you don't even need a new gasket. it's alot easier then a major break down when it lets go

When you go to check the valves, jar the crank a little by jerking the ratchet. Sometimes the front right exhaust valve gets stuck somehow and will seem to be tight, but will actually be veryy loose. Another way is to just keep moving the valves through an entire turn of the crank, they should never be looser than when they are at tdc.
