the 400ex carb is better than the z400's. i think the 400ex has a accelerator pump and the z400 dosent:confused:

if you put an after market/ bigger carb on a bike does it mess with the reliability of the quad?

nope, but will probably have to re-jet it properly

I know that the 400ex carb has an accelerator pump and all but at the present time we have an abundance of bsr36's (z400 carb). See me and my buddy just replaced our carbs on our z's and his girlfriend wants more power out of her 300ex. So anyway if the 400ex carb fits I don't see why the z400 wouldn't since I believe that it is smaller. What modifications are needed to make it fit? Obviously a bsr36 will require the suzuki thumb throttle to fit or different cables. Do the airboots fit fine, I assume they would but be a little tight.

400ex carb is a tight fit on a 300 intake but it will work. All I did was drop the needle on mine. I left the jetting stock.

ive seen it done, you jsut have to make your own mounts to mount them up. also ive seen a 300ex with a 250r hood mounted on it and it looked really sweet.

yah , Z400's are pieces of crap they suck compared to a 300ex:rolleyes:

not just saying that to flame ( i have a 300 ) and they are slow as hell and mine is even bored out and it outruns 400ex's . but they are still slow as dirt compared to a z or 450
