Looking to buy a utility quad. Was serious about this machine but I heard that if you run one for a long time the valves get very tight.
Has anyone heard of this? Is this a major issue with Yammy? Has Yammy fixed this if its a problem?
Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
James

I have an 03. Some Grizzlys have overheating problems, and they are known for weak CV joints. I have the updated tapered shafts on mine, and have not had any CV joint problems. I got lucky about the overheating problem. So far it has been very reliable. Almost as reliable as my Hondas.

I have 4,000 miles on my 02 grizzly i have had to replace brakes a few times, bearings all around, and this stuff is my fault broken cv joint, drive shaft snaped, and a few other things. Yes they are known for cv's breaking but as long as you use your head when in the mud like don't use diff lock in a tight spot and if you don't put big tires on it you won't have a problem. As far as vapor locking mie did it alittle but i had the recall done on it and it's been fine ever seense. Overheating i haven't had that problem. My grizzly has been abused! Also from what i heard the 2003's are the worst because they break axles easyer and over heat alot. I love my grizzly there great quads if you take care of them. Mine beats just about any thing i put it up against none of the new big bore 05's i don't know anyone with them. But mine makes it throught alot of mud and some deep snow. I have had it up to the racks in snow and made it. I had to back up and get another start at it and do some rocking but it made it.
