View Full Version : Help my 450 shocks wont fit my 400!

I just bought a 450 and put Elka on it now I have my stock 450r shocks for my 400 but the top bolt wont go on its off I see these shocks on a lot of 400s what do I need to do to make them fit?

You have to grind the mounts to make it fit. And they are not the right size so they will mess up the geometry.

Grind a little off of the top of the shock.

funny, they have worked great for me for over a year now. i personally love the way my quad rides now. good luck. i hope you like them. by the way you can also grind the nut on the inside of the shock mount and reverse a countersunk bolt in it instead of grinding the shock. i have seen a couple of guys get the clearence they need this way. later

just gring on the top of the shock good cheap way to get cleareance they are really stiff but we let all the nitrogen out of the resavoirs the go get them ravelves for your weight and bike i weigh 160 they put 224pounds of nitrogen in each one there was nearly 350 pounds stock i think

Who does the refilling and revalving? The dealer?
