I switched to black plastic and it is holdin up really well considering all that it has went through I have raced 2 races and a few rides and it still shines! but I am ganna try to get a sticker kit so I don't scratch it up to bad cause I am sure after a while it will look like chit!

The first black one I saw was at the dealer showroom . It must have been wiped down with a dirty rag because it looked horrible up close. From 20 feet it looked good though.

I run black plastic, n it holds up awesome if you keep it clean, like not let mud stay on it for a long time.
they are a PITA to keep looking like new. I would just get red or plan on having a scratched up looking quad if you trail ride w/ black

if you take care of them and keep them clean they seem to stay fairly nice

well they don't look to good after awhile because the color and you get scratches in it. but i sometimes get something to shin the plastic up and then it looks good.

The furniture polish has wax in it, which will hide most of the scratches. Just spray it on and let it sit for a while, then lightly wipe over it. It also makes it smell good.
by the way, I have a complete set of stock black 450R plastic that I would let go if anyone wants it. I obtained it in a trade for some other 450 parts.
