I have a pretty stock 400ex and I want to put a set of durable sand tires for playing at my local sand pits every once and a while and I am going to Broule Lake Sand Dunes by Hinton Alberta. It for me to do some 2nd and 3rd gear hill climbs.

1. Skat-Trak Terrain Trak? (Most durable?)

2. 20" or 22"?

3. 10" or 8"? (10" definately looks cooler)

4. 8, 9 or 10 paddles (I'm thinking 9 paddle?)www.skat-trak.com (http://www.skat-trak.com/paddletire.html)

1. Yes probavly the most durable.

2. 20" because 22" you would need the ten paddle

3. the ten inch does look cooler, and i cant tell a diffrence between the 10" wheel and the 8", so go with the 10"

4. 8 because ten is to many. The paddles with a ten paddle are to close together.

i'd go with the 8 paddle, I think a 9 paddle tire might be overkill on a 400ex. Especially at brule. There's no where there to really wind out anyway. Quite a few people I know run gecko's there and seem to be happy with them. I also have a set for sale if your interested.

I have gecko's on my 400ex when I ride in the sand. They seem to do fine but good luck in the sand climbing the steep stuff real fast.It will rob your power no matter what you buy.I have 3 different kinds of paddles and they all work just as good as the other. If you don't plan on riding in the sand all the time go for the best deal for your money.Even a used set will do it for you.
