View Full Version : Bent Grab Bar Questions ?

Well i was outriding and wheelieing in the rocks and i finally did it :grr: I bent my grab bar. Its not that bad, when i get feeling better i will go take some pics of it.

Anyway my question is, can i still send it off and have the grab bar cut off and a 250r grab bar installed ? Which company does that ? Does anyone have any pics of one that they had sent in and are you happy with it ?

You shouldn't have to 'send' it anywhere. Once you get the grab bar you want, take the quad and bumper to your' local welder and have them cut off the old one and weld on tabs for the new one.

As long as the bend isn't too far back there shouldn't be a problem.

The PRM grab bars come as a kit. You can get the weld on type or the bolt on type.

Wheres the cheapest place to get one of the weld on ones? Im assuming you mean that it comes with the tabs that need to be welded on and then you bolt on the bumper right?

Last I heard all retailers of PRM products have to sell them at a certain price. I belive C&D Racing offers free shipping on PRM products;)

I see grab bars but i dont see the kit so you can cut off your grab bar and weld those tabs on so you can replace it from then on :confused:

man take a grinder cut off your odl grab bar. make a couple holes and use nuts. you can weld them in if you want ( i did ) but you don't have to. I used a 300ex bar on mine and it worked great.

Sweet thanks for the pics man. Did you have to tweak that 300ex bar at all to make it fit?

well there is one hole on the 300ex grab bar that is bigger then the rest for there stock pipe to mount. I welded a washer to make the hole smaller.

But the size of the grab bar it self was pretty close maybe a 1/4 inch to wide. the bolts take care of it.:devil:

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention:ermm:

They probably discontinued those but they may have some laying around. Give them a call:)

Call them, they are a great company to deal with. I'm sure they've got the old ones sitting around. All they are is a 250R grab bar and then they sold the weld on tabs as part of a kit for the 400EX.

They stopped selling it a year or two ago because most ppl were afraid of cutting their subframe and it hurt sales. :( but he said that they still have the grab bars with the taillight mount on it for ppl that have already done the mod and told me that if i can get some steel tabs on there and use the 250r bolt pattern that they still sell the grab bars!
