just wondering what a typical ride height would be for racing mx. i usually run about 8" on the rear and 8.25" up front. does this sound right? just wondering what anyone else is using. i have elka lt's on the front with a dual rate elka on the rear.

Thats high if your running 18" rears and 20" fronts. You should be in the 7" to 7.5" range. That is with you sitting on the quad and using SSD shocks.

I have the same shock setup in the front, but I am totally clueless when it comes to shocks. How do I lower the ride height?

loosen the set screw on the ring that is on top of all the springs, then use your little tool that came with your shocks to turn the ring. move the ring down (compressing the springs) to raise your ride height, and move the ring up to lower your ride height. the rear is the same type of adjustment. make sure you adjust both of your front shocks the same number of turns.
