Does anyone make a 12 tooth front sprocket? What is the largest rear sprocket that fits without hitting the skid plate? I ride in tight woods and wiegh alot and the 450R is way to high geared, Im in 1st gear 80% of the time. Im at 13/38 now and 1st is to high to putt along and in some places to low, it hits the rev limiter and 2nd is to high to make the shift. To me 1st gear stock (14/38) would be a great 2nd gear. I rode a friends z400 and it is geared about right, I can putt along in first when thats what needs done. Now the z400 is a dog not near enough giddy up and go for me to ride very much.
I used to have a 250R and use the clutch way more on the 450R than I did the 250R.

I had the same problem riding in the woods. I ride mostly on tight trails with a lot of rocks and obstacles and hills to deal with. My 450 has the HRC Power-Up Kit in it and is geared 13F/40R. I went with the 13t in the front at first but it was not enough. I wanted to put 22" tires in the read for more ground clearance so that is why I bought the 40t rear sprocket. After I put the 40t sprocket on with stock tires I thought the gearing was perfect for my taste. I guess i'm going to be stuck with 20" rear tires and low ground clearance. I did have to shim my PRM skid plate down about 1/4" with washers so that the sprocket and chain would not rub it. I still use my stock chain with this setup. Hope this helps.

im running a 12 tooth front sprocket with a stock rear and 22 inch hole shots in the rear,i love it much better, but then it got better .then i put the Rekluce clutch in and it was the best thing that i put on beside my hrc kit and elkas.i bought the 12 tooth on ebay for 12.00.i really bought two,one for a spare.too save on shipping.i used to stall it before in real tight sections, but not any more.ive been riding for many years with a manual clutch, but this Rekluce clutch is awsome,i hope this helps

I'm running a 12 front & a 40 rear with the stock chain, it work great in the woods and tight trails.
The front sprocket is "Primary Drive" P/N 34712D.
