I have a full race 440ex with elka suspension and +2 a-arms and all the good stuff. How many of my parts for my 440ex will I be able to use on my new 450r? Can I use my same shocks, A-arms, all that kinda stuff.

rear sprocket will work and bumper will also the shocks will work if you send them off and have them redone i think

bumper , bars , rims, shocks (need to get reworked ) axle will work but you will need the 400ex carrier too.

This is EXACTLY the thread I was looking for!!!

So... the Aarms wont work Huh??? :( I just bought a set of +3 Burgard Chome AArms, I havent even had them on my Ex fora little more than two weeks, I was hoping that they would convert over .. I might have future plans on a new quad.

Anything else that will convert over? Also,k anyone have an idea how muich it costs to have my Elkas Redone? I have from a Rear Shocks for my Ex.

when i got my 450 i sent in my std travel shocks from my 400 to elka directly and it was about 570 all said and done to make then into quad rate long travel. also some nerf bars fit, air filter at least the uni's are the same, and foot pegs as well

Good question I asked the same thing before i got my 450R

Shocks all around will fit, The axle will fit but you need to run the stock 450r sprocket hub. A-arms wont fit but if you have heim joints you can bend them to fit. Swingarm i think just needs like a spacer or washer

I got this reply from someone who said that Aftermarket 400EX shocks are about the same length as stock 450R shocks. The problem is compressed length. The rear is a problem also as both the extended and compressed length is much too long. Will cause serious handling problems.
Anyone have input on this???

I do not have any information on stock shocks, but the rear elka was way to long to fit on the 450R but since it is ZPS i was able to compress it enough to fit the 450 and I ran my elka LT linkage with the LT rear shock and everything is perfect. Handles great no problems, i am able to pick the rear grab bar up about 5-6 inches before the rear wheels actually pick up

My front elkas fit perfect but i can't get me rear elka to fit on my 450? it hits on the swing arm. What can I do to make it work? Help Help I wrote elka to see what they can do and change it to fit.

No. The rear shock will not work. Just called pep and they said the whole shock is totally different. Basically the whole shock is changed including the shaft and springs. Will cost major bucks. Easier and faster just to get the 450r shock. It will bolt up but if you jump anything it will bottom out. Plus your rear end will drop way low once you leave the ground. Unsafe and rides like crap. May be ok for beginner riders but experienced riders will take it off within three laps.
