Handlebars

I'm loking at getting a new set of handlebars. I have no idea what I'm looking for. I was reading and they have all kinds of dimensions, what do those mean. What is everyone using for handlebars. The stock ones suck. So could you please give me your input.

I run Renthal, ATV bend bars and have no complaints. Your height affects what bars you should run, I'm about 5'10".

Other guys will have more detailed info though. Good luck.

I run a dirtbike type bend on atvs' crhigh bend. For some reason I dont like atv bends, I'm about 6'1.

I go with tag X-5's they are pretty much renthals but about 10-15 dollars cheaper. The dementions are like, Hieght of the bar, and how wide they are.

get fat bars, i got pro tapers on my yz. i'd recomend tag. and after having fat bars, its what im gonna put on anytihng i ever buy.

i run crhigh, theyre more forqard and about an inch or so lower then stock 400 bars. also the moose alloy bars are made by protaper so good quality for alot less.:macho

CR high is good bend. I got the tags. Renthals are stronger but i couldn't give a ****. If you roll they will bend.

All of these bars you guys are talking about will my stock levers and controls bolt on these. Also will it fit on my stock steering clamps or should I upgrade that also and to which one.

If you don't mind what would be a good set of hand guards to get for any of these bars.

I forgot to say it's for a 04 400ex.

I have Factory 909 CR High Bend bars on my 400ex and I love them.

All your stock levers and conrtols will fit.

You bar clamps will work with standard 7/8''s bars, Fat bars are 1 1/8''s so they require Fat Bar clamps.

Powermadd makes good handguards. Also check out Acrebis and Maier.

Thats not true about Tags being weaker, or if you roll they will bend. I have flipped my quad nearly 4 times and my Tag T2's never bent once!;)

one thing to remember is the "rise" i had some fly bars at one time which had 5" of rise which came in handy, because there was room for the key.

these are renthals but im not sure of the bend, you can see what im talking about "rise" thou, hope this helps

were talking about 7/8 bars.
