I was wondering if any of you had used a replacment bulb from a car for a 300ex. I have a 95 300ex and was going to get a plasma bulb from local autoparts store, i want a brighter light because i ride alot at night and was wondering if the 300 can handle it.

Sorry to bring back old news, but I was looking for something on this and found this old thread. The issue here is that the answerer was answering to the 400ex headlight. Not the 300. Has anyone found anything to fit the 55/65w headlight of the 300 with the blue or white hue to it? Mike

Don't get a one of those blue bulbs. I read up on bulbs and they said how they make those blue bulbs is they put a coating in the bulb housing that filters out most of the color spectrum except the blue, so they are actually dimmer than regular bulbs. They just look cool is all. If you have money you can get a true HID system for a quad but they are big $$$
Don't the 300EX's use a sealed-beam headlight? If so the bulbs aren't interchangable, you need a whole unit. You could go with an aftermarket setup like trail tech if you want more light.
