What I really would like to know is? When equally equiped which handles better.

I really love the handling on my 400ex, cause it sits so low. If I setup the 450r the same way or even at +3 arm standard travel rather than the +2 I used on my 400ex will that make up the difference for its higher center of gravity.

I was referring to hybrid's. I really want to make my r handle more like my ex does, so is it worth having my 450r motor fit to my ex frame, or should I just do suspension up on the R itself ?

I really want some feedback from those that have or rode both.

in my opinion id liek to keep my 400 EX for ever. haha i love how it rides and feels. very evenly weighted and a really good machine, its just with these new 450s its hard to keep up. i would rather drop a 450 engine into my 400 ex than go out and buy a 450 any day. thats just really expensive. if you end up doing that let me know how it goes and how much it costs.

I have the 450r already but to buy all the suspension and arms as well as an axle again will that make it handle as well as my 400ex does now?

And if I were to have the transplant done where should I send my atv to have that done for me. IM not that mechanically inclined to do a transplant. I have done alot of my own work but thats a bit too much for me to take on.

JB Racing, East Coast ATV, and ATV Four Play are 3 of the most reputable businesses who do the CRF/YZF conversion on the 400ex. Get in contact with either of these 3 and they can work you through all the details and what to expect...

yeah I was thinking of one of those 3, but want to make sure I pick the right decision before makng this next step. It'd cost too much if im not happy and want to turn back :(

I don't think much off anything handles better than a stock 400 for recreation, and I have no trouble keeping up with the 450's, you can only go so fast in tight trails, It's all in what you like, I don't want the twitchyness of a mx quad or the stiffness with some of the all out race bikes. I just want a nice comfortable somewhat fast ride. I think a 400 gets it done.
