You need to practice at going through really tight trees real fast.I do it and it helps my cofidence in the woods alot.

OK, just ride a bunch of trails, the XC tracks are really really tight, but thye are tight.

Also, why not race the 40ex?it 's only one of the best XC quads around, and would be funner.

Alos, just ride alot, ride really tight trails,or make your own, with lots fon turns, and do it alot, ride for 5hrs,to build up endurance

Have your friends set up a gauntlet where you get hit with wiffle ball bats while getting sprayed with a firehose. Then run a few miles after you pack your drawers full of gritty mud (simulate chaffing) and then grab a belt sander to get blisters on your hands. Make sure it's a hundred degrees out when you do this and do this in full riding gear for realism. :p

Thanks guys for all the tips. I'm not going to race the 400 because I just got it and I'm not as comfortable on it yet as I am on my Recon. I've had the recon for about 3 1/2 years and know how to ride really well.
