Ok i want to get more throtle response out of my 400. I already have WB E sereis slip on. If i do the head pipe, jets, and air filiter will that make a difference in throttle respone? Any other suggestions?

That won't increase throttle response. Just buy a Sparks timing advance key.

More compression will give you more throttle response.

a sparks timing key or the aggressive curve gt thunder rev box will both help. i don't run the key but my good buddy does. on my bike i run the gt thunder rev box and it made a very noticable difference in throttle response.

You can remove the choke also for throttle response but it doesnt work miracles. I would do that and get the timing advance key and you will be happy.

what all companies make a rev box that wont blow a hole in your wallet?

Well doesent a rev box just let my bike rev to a higher RPM??

i believe the gt thunder one has a different advance curve as well.

My friend has a edelbrock 440 carb, advanced timing key, rev box, cam, piston, and all that good stuff and he still dosnt have great throttle response, i think its just 400ex's in general

i was fine withs its response untill i rode my buddies Raptor 660 that had a full exhaust, jetkit, intake. lol

gt thunder has 2 different boxes for the 400ex. i have the hotter curve box from him and it makes a pretty big difference in throttle response. if you go to a larger bore bike like the yfz or raptor, you may gain better throttle response than the 400ex. i am not sure. the edelbrock carbs probably make the 400ex have worse throttle response than stock since it has a very long throttle throw. the fcr 39 and 41 carbs will drastically increase throttle response.

ok so if i where to get the hotter curve box would i lose any reliablity?

you shouldn't have any problems with that box. my bike does idle a bit irratic and isn't as smooth as stock but there is always give and take when it comes to these things.
