Honestly I think I adusted mine twice and it never worked right in the five years I have my 400Ex. I just stopped worrying about it. Some people completely remove it.

honda makes the worst sport atv parking brakes ever! no 400ex's p brakes work. everyone I know that has a 400ex, their parking brake dont work. so, dot worry, its ok, it is jyst like everyone else parking brake, if u need a parking brake, just put it in first.

It might work but you'll probably have to adjust it every time you use it. Yep, parking brake block off...

they work about 1 time after ajusted then just out of adustment

may as well take it off and just use first gear

Remove the P Brake. Then you can get one of these, cause flames are cool...

That's a pretty cool looking blockoff.

I installed a blockoff on my 200X 3wheeler and my TRX250R because the Honda PB are notorious for taking a big dookie :(

THey know everyone just takes them off anyway. But on the new yamaha's the parking brake is a lot easier to take off the perch and you can use the stock perch without all the junk on it.

i always leave mine in gear or else turn the handle bars all the way, mine was junk even when i went to the dealership and bought it, the first time it worked the second time i couldnt get it to unlock so i just dont use it... only flaw of the ex!

Nothing wrong with that but I prefer not to transport my quad in gear.

Same here, but I always thought that it couldn't do much more damage then me shifting without the clutch!? I still dont transport it in gear though, just peace of mind I guess.

Mine worked once. I herd they cause more breakwear even wen they are not on or working. So i just ordered a white brothers blockoff.

what kind of damage would it do if i transport it in gear. thats what i do but i also attach 2 tie downs one in front and one in rear so it doesnt really move a whole lot.

do you have to buy a new clutch lever/perch when installing a parking brake block off???

I can't promise you that you won't damage anything on your quad, but I think mostly everyone transports their quad the same way.

If you want to get rid of the big, bulky factory perch after you take off the P-brake, get a XR400 perch. The factory 400EX lever will fit perfect. Thats what I did.

When I transport my quad, I put it in neutral, tie it down fore and aft, and put a big zip tie on the front brake lever. After that, your quad's not going anywhere. Try the zip tie, because you can easily remove it and put it back on when its time to load up once again ;)

parking brakes never work and never have, except the new yamaha ones, ditch it and get a block off plate.

How are your rear brake pads? Mine were worn down to almost nothing when I got my EX and the PD didn't work. I think at a certain point there isn't enough adjustment left to make it work. I replaced the pads and now it works. Of course, I never use it anyways and will eventually rip it off with a B/O plate.

Take it off - then it will work perfectly in the trash!
