i was at the track today, and i was on my 6th lap and all of a sudden front end feels soft and bouncy and i could barely control it.. i get it back to the truck and my shock covers were soaked with fluid and the part of the shock body that screws on was on the bottom of the shaft... the bodies are EXTREMELY fugged up and dont look to be repairable :( so now i have a race in less than a week and im gonna have to run stockers with +2s.. anyone else have this problem? my shocks were JUST revalved and this was my first ride on a track with them

Either you hit a massive jump or perhaps someone put them together wrong when they rebuilt or revalved them.. thats all i can think of.

thats why people say not to race with works

its not works fault dude he had them rebuilt by some one else and if there was a mechanical flaw it was by them people. after the shocks are rebuilt only the springs and actual body are from works. the internals and how its put to together is the persons fault that rebuilt them.

but any i think i would give deresse a call and ask them why this happened. cuz unless u did sume real nasty landings its their flaw.

Sorry to hear that man, that sux! Even if he did hit a massive jump, that shouldnt completely blow out a set of aftermarket shocks. Ive landed flat ground after overshooting a 60 foot double, and while my shocks pretty much bottomed out and the landing beat me up, they didnt blow out like that. I would contact quinn motorsports or whoever rebuilt them and see what they have to say about it...

That really sucks man! I've never heared of that happening, but probably has before. Ya, i'd call the people who rebuilt them. If you race in a week, you might be able to get them serviced, and back in time. Just curious though, you say in your signature that "elka suspension" sponsors you... can't you ask them to help you out, or give you a discount or something? Again, that really bites.

heres the carnage, one shock fell apart.. the other is held together by the dented in and cracked outer body..
