my buddy bought a 99 400 tonight. the mods were fmf pipe, jet kit, k&n, 440 kit with stock cam. we raced alot and it couldnt even come close to mine.even switched riders, same results. is there anyway to tell if its really got the 440 kit without a tear down. i figured with the listed mods he'd tear me up in a drag race and when i rode it, didnt feel really any different than mine. any suggestions? he still got a decent deal(3500$) but just wonderin?

What do you have done to yours? Have your buddy ask the guy for receipts...

ive got pipe, jet kit, k&n, but nothin inside the motor. even when i rode it i just didnt feel any more power than mine. several runs tapped out in 5th, no difference. the seller had advertised the quad as 440. im just wonderin with the stock cam if its not lettin the ponies out?

It probably does have a 440 piston in it, but with that stock cam, it won't beat much of anything. Tell him to invest in an agressive cam & then he should kick you butt.
