It's been done but it would depend on individual state laws. You're going to need DOT approved tires, turn signals, mirrors, brake lights, insurance, registration and possibly a smog test. And at least in my state, if it's legal for the street, it's not for off road.

you gotta get rid of the solid axle in the rear. That's the main reason why they're not street legal. There was a raptor in ATV sport a few months back and they only had one wheel in the rear.

Get with the DMV in Arizona. We were down there a few years back , going down the interstate coming into Pheonix , and got passed by a street legal 660 Raptor. So Yes some states allow it..

I just got off the phone with the Arizona DMV (1-800-251-5866 e-0). To make it street legal in AZ. you needon your ATV:

Horn
Muffler
Brakes front & back
Fuel Cap
License Plate Light
Tail light Head light
Stop Light Rear view Mirror.

They said after you pass a safety inspection with the above items. Then you can tag it....

Gee Wish Arkansas would be that way....

Call the dmv, you can make them legal, and you don't have to change the back axle, its more the horn, lights, bumpers, and tires that make them illegal.

It all depends on what state you live in. Some states require the cycle to be built into a trike (3 wheels^). Dirt wheels had an article on how they made a raptor street legal. They had to fab a swing anrm for it.

It has to do with seat belt laws and motorcycles.

anything with 2 or 3 wheels is considered a motorcycle and can be ridin as such. Anything with 4 or more is considered a vehicle.
