Well first off I race motocross...

Today I sold my yfz..hopefully buying a 450r in a month or two. Just wondering what you 450r MXr's think of it...The yfz felt so small and cramped for me, Im 6'3.

Please give your opinions, and let me know if you also crossed over from a yfz...

It's hard to say. The 450r will fit you better for sure, but you loose stability in cornering with the highier ride height. Once you start adding aftermarket parts though it's a whole nother story. Personally I think you made a good decision, can't beat hondas reputation and reliability.

+1 1/4 or more swingarm will help
+2 or 3 arms
13 sprocket
Cam= whatervr you like
Exhaust

Definately add a Cam, Pipe and Piston. Then the mofo will rip.

Before the motor I would add some suspension. The stock suspension will not even let you us all the power the 450R has stock.

I want to switch the the 450R as well. Mine fits me well but I really like the Honda, a few of my buddies have the 450R and once you get used to it you will love it.

Oh yea it is going to have all LT suspension, with Elkas, RPM axle, Flexx bars, hipers, all the good stuff before i even ride it stock...

But my quetsions is how can i make the motor totally rip? and still be reliable...

I am wanting one of the White Bros pipes to keep it under 102db...then i was thinking a Cam (what kind), lightend flyweel, Port and polish, Weisco High compression piston, and some bigger valves, what else can i do that isnt crazy expensive but will add alot of power....Im new ot the 450r motors, I always study the 300ex (since I currently race Youth production) and yfz motors...

Thanks

For the cam Derek, I think you need run webs MYSTO cam and ajustable cam gear. A friend of mine is running it in his CRF and it rips! http://www.webcamshafts.com/

i think you made a good decision, i like mine alot better now with the suspension and a arms, all i need is a cam and what not and ill be good to go power wise.

Never rode a yfz but i am 6,1 and itd prolly be to small for me to.

well im about 5'7" and all my buddies have yfz's and when i sit it it dois feel cramped but the way it positions the rider might be better than 450r for a taller rider.........

lol or you could just get a z400 punched out to a z450. personally i think thats the most comfortable and best all around quad you could have right now. but then again it may be just because i own one and i'm not used to anything else. if you can wait i would see what suzuki has to offer.

The best thing to do to make your motor rip is a,
1)a complete pipe(your white bros)
2)And air filter
3)jetting
4)a CRF Cam
5)rev box
6)je or wiseco piston
7)boysen accelerator pump cover
and to handle that power wisely would be to get a hinson clucth.
that is the easiest way i know thats cheap and makes the motor rip reliably.
