Durablue sprocket hub question.

I'm trying to remove a Durablue X-33 axle sprocket hub. It looks to me like it should slide toward the middle of the axle and off over the other side. It has a retainer ring recessed on the other side, so it can't come off that way. I've pounded the crap out of that thing and it won't budge. Any suggestions. Heat didn't seem to help. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

beat it the away from the clip enough to get the ring off then beat it toward the ring side again ...its a pain in the a** i did it to my rpm. a press would be a lot easier.
