Nice!!! you want to sell one If you make more???

to be honest I hadnt thought much about it. I still have the jig so it wouldnt be too hard to make another. cost is the issue, it took me some time to make it. I have no idea what to charge for it. would you want it painted or you gonna do that? what type of grab bar?

well, I never intended to start a buisness out of this but I am glad you guys like it enuf to buy one. I figure around $250 with a std style AC racing grab bar. the bar pictured is a 250x unit. I used it because I got it locally and it has tailight tabs that I used also. I will have to see if a 250r bar is wide enuf to fit this frame.

here the tailight tabs, the end of tube is threaded so I can ake em off. these tabs came with my bar, I dont know if a 250r has these or not.

A standard AC grab bar for 250x might will work i just though maybe it was shorter than 250r or 400ex stock subframe. I wouldnt need the light mounts.

What's it made out of and will ya sell them for $200 no grab bar????

05-10-2002, 01:15 PM
250r bar will be easier because the 250x/300ex unit has a larger hole on one of the mount holes for the muffler vibration bushing. I had to put a bushing in this one to make the hole smaller. I have a '88 250r grab bar coming to me and will be able to check it once it gets here. both bars are the same price so it wont matter which one is used and both models will be still be made long down the road. just a matter if the R bar will fit.
also if you look I have made different muffler mounts than factory, just a small simple rubber grommet is all im gonna use. I see no reason for the huge bulky mount they have on them from honda. A Raptor has no bushing at all, its solid.

Rico, I wondered who would be the first to ask that, unfortunately not chromoly, just regular steel.. for now. I mainly made this for a cleaner appearance w/o all the battery stuff, removable grab bar and added the braces for a little extra strength. I dont race so chromoly is not really a must for me. in the future, I may make one of chromoly.

also I would sell with out grab bar but I need to know what bolt spacing on the mounts youd want.

Does everyone want chromoly?

well Ill see what I can come up with but I doubt chromoly will be ready anytime soon and certainly not for the same money.

I might be interested if I ever make some money this summer. You said it does not have battery mounts?

05-11-2002, 07:30 AM
thats correct there are no battery mounts, it is meant for the battery to be in an aluminum airbox
