Your best bet in the 125 class hands down is the four strokes, they make more power, and the overall bikes are alot nicer now, the crf is about 6 grand now, while the yamaha yz250f is 5,600 I belive, both bikes have gotten BIG updates in 2005

As far as the 125 class I would recomend the new yz125 with the new 6speed, motor, aluminum frame etc.

hey josh, the 05's did get alot of updates, but I heard the Yamaha had a slight power decrease for 05. Not as much punch. I believe it because my friend is a really good racer he just moved up to 125 class from 85 and hes sponsored by Yamaha and such...and he bought an 04 because of that reason.

Just my 2 cents.

id go with a 2504stroke, ive ridden with 2stroke 125's and 250's and 250 4strokes. the 250 4stroke is definitly a nicer bike. id go with the crf tho, and also on the 4stroke yami, im not sure bout all of em but i know some u gotta take the gastank off just to change a sparkplug....and with a race bike thatd be quite often.....:eek2:

well i dont really want a yamaha.. i dont know for what reson i just tired of all the yamaha's... there al around here so if im getting a 4-stroke im getting the honda... i dont know if i want a 4-stroke though... this will be my first d-bike sense my xr100 back in 2000 or so... and if they have a kick liek the CRF450 has.. i dont liek that, i rode a friends CRF450 and that think almost threw me off the back...

i used to have a '03 piped RM125 and it was a hell of a bike! it was faster than any quad ive ridden. personally, i love the sound and hit of a 2-stroke, but as far as the 125 class goes, the 4-strokes are dominating it. and with the newer mx bikes, the companys are putting everything they have in them, so i dont think you could go wrong with any of them:)

well i guess the reson why every body has the yamaha's around here becsaue there the best:confused: .... i dont know... no friend wont let me ride his YZ250f becaue he thinks im a crapy rider and ill wreck it or some mumbo jumbo... but i ride his bro's CFR450 all the time with no problems....

And btw, 2 kids I know bought CRF250s...they both race B Class 125...and both have had to tighten and adjust there valves after every race because they come out of adjustment alot. One has already had to change his topend out because it went out really quick. Just my 2 cents.

The valves were a common problem on the 2004 models, but I believe they fixed that on the 2005 model.

I was in the same boat and after one race i said i gotta get one. i sold my quad and got a 04 Rmz250. It is an awsome bike. I put the boysen impeller and water pump cover on it and it never overheats. Its an awsome bike. 4 stroke all the way.
