Im posting this for a friend, and hopefully can get some help out. He recently rebuilt the motor on his 400ex from the ground up and now has a slight problem. There is a small slow leak between the center cases toward the rear. I examined it for him and didnt notice any cracks or gasket slippage. He realizes that hes going to probably have to replace one or both of the center cases, but thats not something he really wants to do right at the moment since he just got the thing back together. Is there any temporary fix he could use to stop the leak? Maybe something he could put down the split between the cases to temporarily seal it up? He wants to use epoxy down the center but I told him I dont think it would be effective at stopping oil. What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated...

It should be ok if it is a small leak.

Isnt liquid gasket Permatex? I thought oil could still penetrate permatex, especially if sealed from the outside... I really dont know what would work to stop an oil leak.
