Ok so i got my new 400 and i want to make it as tourqey as possible.
I am going to get the WB headpipe, a jet kit with airfilter.
my question is what CAM i should get if i need to regear i dont want want it to low i still like to haul *****. but i dont mind loosing a few top end MPH and anything else i am forgeting? I dont want to lose the reliability of my quad thats why i bought it.

-keep your stock headpipe for now unless your going to get a highcomp piston
-go with the hotcam stage 1 camshaft
-get a 14 tooth front sprocket

should make quite a difference

I think that cams are more for top end. You would be better off with a wiseco or JE 11.1 piston. If you can buy a hotcam stage 1 and the piston, that should make a pretty big difference.

My 440 is a torque monster and I love it. BUT you did mention that you don't want to lose any reliability, so I'm not sure you want to go down the road of a 440.

Go with the 14 tooth sprocket first, it is the easiest to change back if you don't like it. If it is too slow for you, get a rev box for a few extra rpms. You can also put on 18s for a little lower gearing if you don't care to lose the ground clearance.

the Head pipe if im not mistaken is the rest of the exhaust from the manifold to the pipe it self correct? and why leave it stock?

So a hotcam stage 1 and a 14tooth front sprocket is probaly my best bet?

do exactlt what nosliw said to do and the stock head pipe makes much more tourque than any other heard pipe aftermarket ones tend to make more higher rpm power

Call offroad action in central city, 338-7700. I buy a lot of stuff there and get pretty good deals on them. Also try servicehonda.com and planet honda. Everyone says C&D is good too, but I have never dealt with them.
