Can you run a +3" front end with 16" shocks as long as the valving is correct? Or are all of the +3" a-arms setup for long travel shocks (19")? I have TCS 16's right now with Lonestar +2's with offset rims to get it to 50 inches but the front is a little bit twitchy for my likes with the offset rims. So I was thinking about going to the +3's with the 4-1 backspacing to correct it.

yes a few companies make +3 standard travel a-arms. I have never personally ran anything over +1 w/ standard travel shocks so I can't comment on that. If you are going +3 though I would go LT for sure

yes you can run that, burgard definely makes them, and LSR to i think and 4+1's will get you right where you want them to

I run Burgard +3s with 16" shocks and they work great.

I would rather not do burgard, what other brands do you guys know of that make +3's in standard travel? I like lonestar but they are a little pricey.

Laeger and JB Racing both make standard +3's. I use the laegers and they are the best A arms Ive ever used. The JB's are similar to the Laegers and both are top quality arms, so I would reccomend either of them....

I would definitly recommend JB/Laeger a-arms. I have a +3 JB front end w/ standard length shocks and 4:1 offset rims.

Heres the last question. It would seem to me that I wouldnt have to change my shock valving if I went +3 and also brought the wheels back in where they should be...but is there enough of a difference in leverage points based on where the spindles are to require a revalve if I switch?

Offset of the wheels does not affect valving one way or the other.

well here in about a week or so I will be running Burgard +3+0 w/ TCS Tripple w/ Rezzies and ITP Baja 4+1

Offset of the wheels does not affect valving one way or the other.

I don't see how that could be....If you move the applied load point on a lever farther away from the fulcrum it increases the amount of force exerted at the shock mount in this instance. What Im essentially doing is lengthening the a-arm and moving the rim back in, keeping the length of the lever the same...but what Im not sure about is that with my setup now there is more length given by the wheel which is not on the same plane as the a-arm....

The leverage is still applied at the end of the hub, not the outside of the wheel or tire.

Oops, that was stupid on my part. Ok I see what you are saying now. So when it comes down to it, the answer to the question "Do I have to change my valving for this swap?" is yes?

if u got compression adjustable shocks,i would just make the swap and turn the compression up alil more on the shocks to save some money.;)
