i still say tried and find a used one,i bought that one with the stock headpipe for 220:devil:
but if you buy the slipon, you will have to cut the stock header down about 5 inches and drill a small hole in it

where and why did you have to drill a hole in your head pipe. Just wondering I run the tc pipe.

You can go through lost creek cycles to get the tc pipe. lostcreekcycles.com

I bought my slip-on for $338 shipped from TC himself. Anything more then that is just to expensive for a slip-on, get a full HMF at that point...

ya the prices for the slip on are just outrageous

Do any of you other guys know what he is talking about drilling the hole in the head pipe with the tc slip on.

All you do is drill a little hole in the header where the silencer meets and a little metal piece goes in it to keep the silencer from moving all over. It's not a big deal...

so does the powerbong or any other header work better than stock?

no i think it is suppose to work directly with the stock header and be a monster low end pipe

well if its an mx pipe it should be more mid/top right? or would you want it low/mid. I know for xc you want low low to mid but for mx I though it was the other end of the power bend you worried about. It doesn't matter either way because I'm still buying one but I can get a good deal on a powerbong thats why I was wondering.

thats a real nice 400ex but you will have to get a quiet pipe because tc will be illegal soon because of over 102db

i think that is some crap. TC makes tooo good of a product to let it go to waste. I will ride w/ TC(when it gets here) till I get told to remove it because I can't compete, until then it will go on.

did you grind down the welds in your stock headpipe?

Can any of you please give me a close up shot of where the pin and hole goes into the tc pipe. And does anyone know when they are looking to change the decible limit.

i haven't gotten my tc yet. i'm still wanting to know if I should get the slip-on or not. is TC's header that much better than stock or say powerbong?

Dave400ex

As far as I know TC doesn't even make a full system for the 400ex.

TCracin440ex

TC does not make a full system for a 400ex....people dont understand this pipe is made for mx...he retains the stock headpipe because of the torque and bottomend the stocker adds with that slip on....i dont know why people want to add an aftermarket headpipe with a tc....if your going to do all that trouble just get a sparks if you want a full system, but you want the benefits of a race exhaust...then dont bother getting a TC

a full system adds topend which really aint needed for mx...you want that low end grunt for that extra pull out of the turns...

I have seen these pipes made by other people, Carens Boys Racing did have them in Leitchfield, KY. They are the ones who run Blackrock Motorcross track. They are pretty much the same except you did have to cut about threee inches off the header pipe to make it fit. It is a 350x supertrapp with custom guts, they are the loudest pipes I have ever heard.
