Well the second round of the worcs series takes us to the shores of Lake Havasu Az. to Crazy Horse Campgrounds. Parts of the track which you will see later were right along the edge of the lake. Lake Havasu was about a 4 hour drive from the La area. Located just south of Interstate 40 on Az hwy 95. Yes there is also a Hwy 95 on the California side that I understand a few of the late arrivals took...

You also may have heard of something called the LONDON BRIDGE. Well this is where it's at.

WestCoast Editor

You have to cross the bridge to get to the campgrounds/racetrack.

Fortunately this guy was a little bored this weekend. He cruzed the pits checking out the sites..

This was a great place to watch the race. By the afternoon there were several boats lined up along the shore.

As the day got warmer, this was where you found a lot of the spectators.. It was a nice place to go and cool off and catch some of the action.

Here a rider breaks during the race. Well what a better place to break..Actually he got help and was back racing within a few minutes.. However...

I wasn't quite so lucky. Here you can see me and my C-Dale doing what it does best...Sitting. It only made it 2 1\2 laps before it decided to die. After the race I found this time it was my fault. I forgot to zip-tie the plug for the coil-plug connection and it vibrated apart.

Here' a rare shot. Before it died.. Just kidding though I love my Dale...When it's running..

Here are some of the smaller quads. And yes they ran the same track as everyone else except the 50 class. They got a shortened version.

#1851 Tristen Morris from Lake Havasu Az.(he had a long trip) running the 70-90cc stock class on his little Suzuki was preparing for the race. He finished 3rd.

As you looked around there was plenty of pit area. The word was the turnout was down from the first round in Phoenix. Rumor was because Havasu was such a brutal track with the heat and whooped out sandy washes...

These little guys did't care about all that. They were here to race...#92y David Rindt from Las Vegas Nv. took second in the 90cc open class. Just behind him #389y Dillon Ayers runing the 71-90cc mod class. They may have been in different classes but that did't mater, this is racing. Dillon won his class.

This guy stayed very busy. After each race they would send the dozers down and fix different areas that were getting the worst.

This was a very familiar thing to see. No not because it's a Dale. These were 70 min races and it took a well prepared rider and machine to finish.. This rider was Justin Thompson #262 and unfortunately he was on a Dale.

But then as I was pushing my machine back who do I run into....
Keith. He said he got a piece of wire caught in the chain and it broke... He wasn't as lucky. His quad was at the bottom of the canyon...

Here is a shot of the infield area. There were a couple table top jumps and a little step up. I would have liked to see a little more there just for the fans. Even though this was probably won of the better places to watch the races.

WestCoast Editor

A little different angle of the infield..

This was a shot down the last straight toward the finish. Just before the finish you had to slow down and go around the big tree and then cross the finish. It worked great to slow riders down for the scoring..

Ok heres one for all those guys that didn't make it out to the race. This was an awesome event and I wish had been able to stay all weekend but we had to load up and head back as soon as we were done to get to the ITP race on Sunday back home.

Heres what happens when you don't have a case saver....It's well worth it... This is Keiths Quad after the broken chain incident. To his defense he had busted the case saver a few months back so this was just bound to happen. If you look close to the smaller shot you will see theres a good size piece missing. But thanks to JB weld he was able to race the next day..

This is where everyone wanted to be.. The number one spot...I wish we had been able to stay and do more coverage..This is going to be the biggest event in Quads for a long time. The Worcs series is only going to get BIGGER... We will be posting all the photo's from the weekend at Bigkidracing.com.

See Ya at the Races

Justin Thompson, #262 is my brother in law

He didn't finish do to a bent exhaust valve( ) But he's getting new Kibblewhite valves, plus some crankwork, and a few other things and should be back in action at Round 3

I may be racing at Round 3 also, but not on my Cannondale AGAIN, because it still won't be ready. Instead i'm going to race in the Utility class again. I just hope more people enter that class this time.

Do you have any pictures from the Open Pro/A/B race and/or the Pro-AM race or any more pictures of that tabletop? It would be cool if you got a pic of me clearing it.

There are hundreds of pictures of every single race at Off-road.com
Havasu Galleries (http://www.off-road.com/atv/race/2005worcs/havasu/galleries.html)
This is Justin Waters, #95. Yeah that was me stuck on the little hill thing on that corner. Someone ran into the back of me and we got stuck. When we got disconnected the sand sucked me up onto that hill. I did finish 3'rd, it took me until about the last lap to get back into 3'rd.
I raced the Pro/AM race too on Sunday. I was 3'rd into the first corner, 2'nd out of it. I passed first about half way through the first lap and never looked back. I had about a 2 minute lead on 2'nd place. The last lap I was getting so hot I had to stop at the pit and pour water all over myself, and I had done that just 3 laps earlier too.
