05 bottom end problems?

a friend of mine has expressed some interest in doing some trading with me, his 05 450 for my 89 250r. upon asking another knowledgable friend's advice, he told me that he had heard the 05's were having bottom end problems. any truth to that, or did someone feed him a line of crap?

there were a few with bad crank bearings bu i believe they usually went out within the first few hours of riding and if they did honda warrantied the atv with no problems
