I just got my hrc cam. and next weekend im going to be putting it in. This well be the first time i have opened up the engine. I was wondering if anyone had some hints or a step by step installing letter or something. ANY help? thanks for all who respond.

DON'T overtighten 3 valve cover bolts. They will snap very easy.... I know. Valve adjustment is done by replacing shims on top of valves. Make sure to use high-heat lock-tite on cam sprocket bolts. Als check clearance on decompressor. Do a search on valve adjustment on this forum for more information. Good luck.

i need shims for the hrc cam and how will i keep the timing? does it need to be advanced or not? ..........any other tips

You may or may not need different thickness shims. All depends on the clearance after installing cam. Go to "TRX450R.ORG" and go to engine faq section. Theres instructions and pics that may help you install cam. There's alot of technical info. there. Just look for it. Hope this helps.:)
