hi, i am currently running a 406 stroker. My problem is that every time i go to jet this thing i can start it when it is cold but when it is warmed up and shut off this thing is impossible to start back up. right now i am running a 35 pilot jet, 150 main, needle fourth clip down. Im not sure if i should go up on the pilot jet or not. as for my fuel screw it is 2 and a half turns out. If anyone could give me any help with this i would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lance

a 150 sounds awful lean to me to have such a big motor, what carb are you running?

i am running a stock carb. to me i would think that it would be lean to ,with my 352 motor i was running a 155, since then i have changed to +3 intake valves +1.5 exhaust valves, with a full race port job and a larger bore but the same compression, so those were the only changes i have made. I just can never get it to run right, with a 155 it seems like it is rich. I just have no idea on where to even start now.

well, i would suggest to first, go to a 400ex carb, you can get one for less than 100 bucks and you'll get quite a bit more power. i know a 330 with no porting and no holes in the airbox lid will use a 160 main and a stock pilot and needle

What kind of pilot jet were you running with that, i am thinking that maybe that could be for the reason that it will hardly ever start up, I have been thinking of going with a 400ex carb, but i have a lectron sittin here, I just can't ever seem to get the lectron working right.. its a pain in the ***

also, gthunder jetted my quad using a dyno. if you call him, he can probably tell you how he jetted my quad, which should give you a starting point. mine was a 350cc, full race port, 3 angle valves, wb air filter, wb header and pro circut exhaust and 400ex carb

www.gthunder.com his number is on the website

i would start 1 pilot up from mine (with the 350 kit, not the 330 i mentioned earlier) and 2 mains. start with the needle on the middle notch (this is with a 400ex carb)

on my stock 300ex carb with my old 330 i was runnin a 155 main and 40 pilot and it ran great, so i think you'll need atleast a good 10 jets higher?
