Im looking to buy a 400EX but the guy says it need tires, rear bearing carrier, left side cover, possible axle but axle should still work

Is this a good deal for 1800

how much would it cost me to replce these things

id try and get it as low as i can that thing sounds beat.maybe 1400 or 1500,depending on the year

I dont know how the engine is or what year it is

with all that stuff wrong he probably never did any maintenance.you never know whats going to go wrong next.my buddie sold his 2001 for $2200 with the basic mods and it was in pretty good shape.

i would just check it out really well,like see what the oil looks like and see if the frame or swingarm is cracked anywhere.obviously take it for a ride and see how it runs and go through all the gears and stuff.check the air filter,if he didnt take care of the air filter he probably hasnt taken good care of it.if you get it for $1500,put 300 into the motor,150 for a new dual row bearing carrier,150 for rear tires,maybe 100 for a stock axle,75 for the side cover,check stuff like brakes,see if the rims are bent,a arm bushings,tie rod ends,ball joints,swingarm pivot bearings,front wheel bearings,chain and sprockets,brakes, rotors,plastics,seat cover,steering stem,all the cables and stuff,if you have to start replacing this stuff it will get expensive,i know i had to do it to mine.it all depends on how much you want to put into it.....good luck..
