Hi, I am new to the forum and my bike is running a little lean I don't know where the air/fuel screw is on my carb. I have a 2004 ex know I should know but I can't figure it out also does anyone have a step by step on how to jet this bike. I am at 7000ft elevation and I want to switch from jetting that the dealer put on they said it was for higher elevation but it sure doesn't seem like that because it has a hard time idiling.
Thanks

the air/fuel screw is to adjust idle, to give it more fuel youll have to rejet it. to do that, on the bottom of your carb. there is a 17mm cap take that off and inside is the jet, get a 6mm socket and feel around with it til its on it. then just thread it out, and put in the new jet (get at any dealer for bout 3.99). to adust idle though, the idle screw is on front of the carb. hanging off the brass hanger. turn in to richen turn out to lean.

the fuel screw is NOT an idle adjustment. the fuel screw is on the very bottom of the carb near the idle adjustment. the idle adjustment sits on the left side of the carb. it is silver in color and you can turn it with your hand. the fuel screw is hard to see when the carb is still on the bike. it is a bronze colored screw and you turn it with a flat blade. turning it out will richen the mixture from around idle to 1/4 throttle or so.
