What is the best oil for my R

hey guys what si the best oil to run in my R whats the best for the engine side and also the tranny side. some people tell me to use the motul 300v 15w50 and the 3000+ others tell me to use the honda hp4 with moly for the engine and without for the tranny. help me guys its about time to change the break-in oil. what do you guys run.

Amsoil engine side. Honda tranny oil for tranny

the new mobile 1 gold cap 15w-50 in engine side and honda red bottle tranny in tranny

I bought a whole case of HP4 and a case of HP4M. I am set for a good long while. My dealership got me a great price for buying that much oil, I think it was like a $1-1.25 off each quart or something like that. If everything is priced close, just go with the Honda stuff.

if 2 stroke ams oil for sleds is anything like the 4stroke oil then id never go near it because every1 of my dads friends and my dad that ran ams oil in the sleds there engines seized within a day of using that oil:eek2:

I doubt it was from the Amsoil.I have been using the 2 stroke Amsoil for over a year.

As far as your quetion on oil choice......just dont use any oil with friction modifiers in it for the clutch side.

Honda oil is the best. It has additives in it. If your engine is fully broken in, I'd use HP4M synthetic in engine and Honda gear oil (red bottle) in tranny. Red bottle says for 2-strokes, but it is made for tranny with gears and clutch. :)

Honda oil is made by shell last i knew, and from what i understand, it is a synthetic blend, not a true full synthetic. It's ok oil, just not the "best", and for what you are actually buying, it's overpriced. Not arguing, just clarifying.

I am thinking of trying the royal purple max cycle 20w50 oil. It is supposed to be the best full synthetic oil. for more info check out their site www.royalpurple.com
