Did you raise the pilot jet from stock?

try the air/fuel screw and if that doesnt work then try a 42 pilot jet

we replaced the pilot and main jet,we did 158 main, and 58 pilot, what should the air fuel screw be set at?

i think your problem is the 58 pilot:huh but try and adjust it until the quad idles, then go from there

well there is a white screw type thing on the carb, with the quad running turn it to the left and that should bring the idle down or vice versa

its more of a knob type thing, you will see it,just look by the choke lever can't miss it

put a smaller pilot in. I was having the same problem and that fixed it. The pilot is too rich and causing the plug to foul prematurely. It is also why idling fast seems to help it because its has too much fuel for the idle circuit.

like i said try a 42 that should help it,and if that doesnt work then go next size lower 40

Check to see if you can adjust your throttle cable to lower the idle. Then adjust your idle screw.
