My 450r has the crf ignition, fcr carb, 13:1 piston, hotcam II, and a ported head. Any way the pipe is glowing about half way back and it pops (not backfire) on deceleration a very small amount but when it is idleing and you give it gas and let off it pops pretty bad. I take it is jetting issues or is it something else. I have a 180 main 48 pilot in it. should i go to a larger main jet? i need help

Thats what i would try first most quads i have jetted on the dyno run larger jets then that try bumping up to a 190 or 195 and see what happens or find a dealership with a dyno to help you out.

just on the main jet or the pilot as well

I would go with a bigger pilot to start off with to fix the popping on deceleration. Seems to me like a big enough main for an FCR carb.

mine glowed red even when bone stock...dont go too nutz on jetting. the hrc kit comes with a 185, this jetting is for ALL conditions on a STOCK motor.

I would try a 50 pilot, and what needle position are you at?? I would set it to the 5th clip position on your FCR carb.

I went to 190main and a 50 pilot and set the clip on the lowest position and now it is runnin good but the pipe is glowing about half way around the bend and the poping has pretty much stop but what should i do about the needle there arent any more positions let on it?
