Well, everything has made it. I purchased my AC Pro-Pegs and Bumper from http://www.atvaddiction.com and purchased my Elka fronts and Elka Mac Daddy Rebuild from The QuadShop. Everything came as promised. Now I just have to put it all on, sounds like a late night project for me tonight, since I was lazy and took a long nap when I got home from work.

Here are a couple of pics...

Get a pic up of the new bumper when you can, I want to the "new" style AC on a 400 before I order one.

Here's a quick reply for ya. I just got it put on. It looks like it's bent already and it was a pain to get on, looks like it was bent wrong from the manufacturer. I'm going to send them a picture and email. Kind of crappy if you ask me. Nothing lined up, I could get three bolts in, but that's it. I tugged and pulled like heck and finally got the 4th bolt in, but it looks like crap.

I sure hope the **** my Pro-Pegs aren't this crappy to get on...

I'll also post some pics of my new Elka's, they look pretty snazzy and were a snap to get on.
Took me less time to put shocks on front and back than to put one little bumper on...

I think they come pre bent. Its the new style bumper. Unless you mean it is on croocked then that musta been a mistake but i couldnt tell. They are good bumpers they hold up better than my moms FORD believe me crash tested.:devil

Nacs - yeah, I knew they were bent/swayed back for looks, but the mounting arms were crooked and didn't line up with the frame mounts. So it's kind of slanted to the right side. I sent an email with picture to AC Racing last night...we'll see what they have to say. It does seem to be a very solid bumper, hence the reason I couldn't bend it back in place :)

I'm scared to start the Pro-Pegs, those may be a big bear to get on...

Holty - I think my Elka's took about 4 weeks to get.

RedRooster - Definitely "tweeked!"

poopy the AC's are gonna be a bear to get on,,they'll be snug,,but that's what ya want,,you don't want them all loosy goosy..mine had ta be pried, pulled, tugged on to fit,,which I considered a good thing,,that way there in a bind and will stay sturdier,,good luck..:D

I know I don't see them in the pic so maybe a dumb question, are those Elka triples without rezzies? Is it less expensive without them or not? And when I had my 250R I got the "old" style Ac bumper it kept me in the cold shed for like an hour or so trying to get all the boolts to line up, nice looking once it was on but it was a pain.

Yeah, I got the triple rates without rezzies. I think it saved me like $300 or so. I can add rezzies anytime, that's the nice part about the Elkas. Also, I don't think I'll be doing enough long hard riding to take advantage of the rezzies, but if I do, I'll just add them.

I do like the looks though...can't wait to give them a try. Hopefully this weekend. Tonight will probably be spent pulling, tugging, prying, cussing, and whatever else I'll be doing to get the Pro-Pegs on. Then I should probably wash this dirty thing... :)

Check out the FAQ forum. There is a good thread in there on the installation of AC pro-pegs.

the pro pegs are a breeze to put on if you do it right. minimal tugging required. the mistake most people make is bolting on the lack footpeg part first then trying to bolt them to the motor mount. the secret is to mount the motor mounts first then put on the foot peg part. a little tugging might be needed but not much, at least in my case.

You have had the AC stuff 4 ever your still havent put it on yet gg wizz i thought you were a different person.

05-10-2002, 05:48 AM
just put pro-pegs on a yesterday, piece of cake, other than my footguards were to short, they wern't long enough to mount to the frame. Ac is sending a new pair no questions ask.

also I taped the footpeg mounts to get a better fit, as you probably know there is about a 1/4" of slop.

Hey how much did it cost you for the Elkas and the mac daddy rebuild.
And how much is it to add rezzies?

I was also wondering would you hvae to get different shocks if you got =2 a arms?

PoopOna400EX

I think for the Elka's, Mac-Daddy Rebuild, and Shock Covers it cost me exactly$800.

I believe it is about $300 extra to add rezzies and another $175 to make them adjustable.

Not sure about the +2 A-Arms, maybe would need long-travel Elka's, but not sure.
