We have a z and we hear a tapping or ticking coming from what appears to be the top end. We reset the valves to spec and it didn't fix it. We pressed out the compression release off the cam and still did it. We reset the timing chain tensioner and still did it. We are stumped. We just swear it is coming from the top end. I see in the one forum that people are have flywheel bolts coming out. Does anyone have any input on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Yep.......do a search over at www.z400central.com
Look in the faq section,as well as in the maintenance section.There are step by step instructions.I just finished doin the job(starter clutch bolts) myself.Its not too bad at all.;)

as said above,CAM CHAIN,almost 100% sure.

my buddy had the samething happen and it was his cam chain
