How many discs?

How many discs do you guys think i guy should have in his Supertrapp 4 inch race silencer. One guy told not to run it bare, its like straight pipe and will run like shiz. What kind of end cap should i run also? and open end or a closed end? thanks dudes!!

I have switched from a Supertrap exhaust to a another exhaust some years ago on my 300ex. The Supertrap I have ran the best with all the disks off...... But I also have a lot of mods done to my engine. When I did run the disks, I ran all that I had, only to try to keep the exhaust quieter..... That did not work!! The great thing about the disks is that you can play around with what works best for you. If I remember right, the less disks you have, the quieter it gets and you may gain more bottom end, as opposed to running more disks making it louder and possibly gaining more top end.

Hey thanks alot for the help, im not sure about the number of discs though, i always thought the more discs the less noise. I ordered 6 discs, and end cap and six bolts from dennis K. I hope they work well and keep the noise down a little bit, other than that, did you have the race series muffler? or the iDS? well thanks for the help. Im going to go see a exhaust specialist tomorrow to help me mount it up well cuz right now they meet up well but i need to bend the pipe a little bit more so the kick starter will go back to a regular position, and so it stays away from all critical components. well im off to cut my plast or try, man one side is a mess.

Is this like the TC Pipe? If it is it runs Best with the Open End Cap. You can run the Discs if the other Setup is to Loud though.
