View Full Version : inverting front rims, bad idea??

im in the process of inverting my front tires
i read a thread and somone said it would bend my a arms
im geting into racing and dont want to spend the money on a arms.
has anyone bent an a-arms due to this
and what were you doing
what would you recomend
how much are wheel spacers

I run te widest off-set wheels that you can, which is the same as flpped wheels and I have had no problems. I ride hard and jump fairly big, so I would say your ok......my 2 pennies.......

You end up with more bump steer that's all. It won't break anything but eventually it is more wear and tear on your tie rod ends. :p

Not saying you can't do it but did you feel a little more feedback in the bars? It won't bust your tie rod ends but it has to put more of a load on them since the offset wheel will have more leverage. Just my opinion man....:p

The bumpsteer didnt bother me at all. i really didnt even notice it!!!!

just a thought if all your doing is racing tracks with it it should be ok but if you ride in the woods alot and u clip a tree with a tire, your more likely to bend a tie rod

I clipped a tree a couple of weeks ago and bent a rim:mad: The tie rod is fine:confused:

what about the countersinking for the lug nuts
just go at it with a drill??

just flip the lug nuts.
